Harwood’s tallest tower celebrates construction milestone

Harwood International and Manhattan Construction recently celebrated the topping out of Harwood No. 14. After breaking ground in March of 2021, the Class AA tower is already nearly 70% pre-leased and is on track to deliver in 2023. The tower is the tallest office building in Harwood.

“Manhattan Construction is very proud to work in the Harwood District again and to have achieved this topping out milestone,” said Andrew Reese, Senior Project Manager at Manhattan. “We appreciate the cohesive teamwork from Harwood International’s leadership and design teams, and we look forward to keeping up our momentum to project completion.”

Harwood and Manhattan celebrated the topping out of the 27-floor tower with a BBQ lunch, giveaways, and placing a ceremonial tree to the top of the building.

“We are very pleased with all that the project team has accomplished so far to bring our largest office building to fruition,” said Austin Conway, Harwood’s Senior Program Manager. “The unique building will be a great addition to the Harwood District and the greater Dallas.”

The design and architecture teams behind Harwood No. 14 are Dallas-based HDF (architect of record), Dallas-based Corgan (associate architect), and Tokyo-based starchitect Kengo Kuma & Associates (design architect).

The Class AA tower’s design is heavily influenced by nature, featuring a two-story lobby with monumental stairs blending indoor/outdoor features, a landscaped plateau, a finned curtainwall system that is the first in Dallas, open-air pocket gardens, and a spectacular 17,000 SF rooftop and sky garden. As in all of Harwood’s office buildings, the 17,000 SF of retail at the base of the building will expand upon Harwood Hospitality Group’s notable restaurant, café, and bar collection.

Leading firms Haynes and Boone, O’Melveny & Myers, and S2 Capital currently make up the tenant landscape of the building.

Harwood continues to grow and is already setting its sights on future developments in the over six million square feet of development rights in the District. The firm’s emphasis on providing hospitality-level customer service within their developments has set them apart and has proven effective in tenant retention and growth.

Harwood International signed leases totaling over 330,000 square feet in 2022.
